Pick Up Your MTA Check

Category: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:27 am

Have you heard the news? Our calls to repeal the MTA Payroll Tax are gaining traction in Albany!

Albany’s beginning to realize that the Hudson Valley cannot bear the burden of the MTA’s mismanagement.

On Thursday, February 11, please join Assemblyman Greg Ball as he will make available this symbolic check for non-profit organizations, school districts, local governments, and businesses.

Assemblyman Ball asks that everyone in the Hudson Valley mandated to pay the MTA Payroll Tax write on this symbolic check how much they are giving to the MTA, then bring these checks to the Tax Revolt Rally on April 15th on the steps of the Putnam County Courthouse, or submit the symbolic checks to his district office, located at 2392 Route 6, Brewster, NY

On April 15, we will use these symbolic checks to calculate how much money is being taken from the Hudson Valley to bail out the mismanaged MTA when it could be used to create jobs.

And don’t forget to sign the petition below!

Join Assemblyman Greg Ball Thursday during our three press conferences to reveal and distribute the symbolic check:

Petition to Audit the MTA

Category: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:56 am

This letter is in response to the passage of the MTA bailout. We believe that a full accounting of the MTA is in order.

Recent articles from publications such as the Daily News lead us to believe that we cannot wait until 2009 that it is essential to audit the books immediately.

In light of past failures by the MTA, the taxpayers, non-profit organizations, hospitals and schools who are being asked to foot the bill for this unaffordable measure deserve to know if the figures being provided by the agency are unrealistic.

Respectfully, we request that the Speaker of the State Assembly use his authority along with the Temporary President of the Senate to convene an independent, forensic audit into the MTA.
